07.07.202606:30:00UTC+00Hungary’s Inflation Eases Further in June, CPI Slips to 1.7% YoY

Hungary’s consumer price inflation continued to edge down in June 2026, with the year-over-year Consumer Price Index (CPI) slowing to 1.7%, compared with 1.8% in May 2026. The data, updated on 7 July 2026, show a further softening of price pressures in the economy.

Both the current and previous readings are measured on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month with the same month a year earlier. The slight moderation from May to June suggests that disinflationary trends remain in place, with price growth staying well below the elevated levels seen in recent years.

While the change is marginal, the continued decline in inflation may influence expectations around monetary policy and real incomes, as households and investors watch whether Hungary can sustain low and stable price growth through the rest of 2026.
