07.07.202604:43:51UTC+00Dutch June Inflation Confirmed at 2.9%

The annual inflation rate in the Netherlands slowed to 2.9% in June 2026, in line with preliminary estimates and down from a one-year high of 3.5% in May. The deceleration was largely driven by transport inflation, which eased to 6.9% from 9.9%, reflecting lower motor fuel prices amid declining global oil prices. Inflation also cooled in several other categories, including health (0.7% vs. 0.8%), recreation and culture (2.6% vs. 2.8%), and restaurants and hotels (4.2% vs. 6.5%).

At the same time, prices fell for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.5% vs. 0.1%), clothing and footwear (-0.5% vs. 0.4%), and information and communication (-1.4% vs. -0.8%). In contrast, price growth in housing and utilities edged up to 3.6% from 3.5%, while inflation for household goods and services rebounded to 0.3% from -0.3%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined by 0.6%—the first drop since January—following a 0.1% rise in May. Annual HICP inflation, which excludes owner-occupied housing, also eased, falling to 2.5% in June from 3.4% in May.
